The Holden Torana car was produced by General Motors Holden (GMH) the Australian subsidiary of General Motors. The name Torana comes from an Aboriginal word meaning ‘to fly’ and the Torana was also know as a Sunbird in the later years as that’s what the 4 cylinder version were branded With 6 and 8 cylinder models also available and all with the choice of an Auto or Manual Transmission. The first Torana (HB) appeared in Australia in 1967 and the final model but was phased out by 1980, whilst it had its roots in the late 1960s it was the 1970s Torana was really an icon in Australia.
